CSOB Slovakia's non-performing loans reached 2.81% of total loans at the end of 2017, down from 3.27% compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 8.47% in 2010 and an all time low of 2.81% in 2017.
Provision coverage amounted to 75.7% at the end of 2017, up from 70.0% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 0.192% of average loans in 2017. That's compared to 0.372% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
Comparing CSOB Slovakia with its closest peers, VUB Banka operated at the end of 2017 with NPL ratio of 4.13% and provision coverage of 73.9%, Slovenska Sporitelna with 4.19% and 72.0% respectively and Tatra banka had 2.90% of bad loans covered with 70.0% by provisions at the end of 2017.
