What Banks in Vietnam Were the Largest Deposit Takers in 2019?

Based on a comparison of 15 banks in Vietnam in 2019, BIDV was the largest deposit taker, followed by Vietcombank and VietinBank.

BIDV's customer deposits reached VND 1,139,390 bil, up from VND 1,000,550 bil, compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of VND 1,139,390 bil in 2019 and an all time low of VND 135,336 bil in 2007.

Comparing BIDV with its closest peers, Vietcombank's deposits amounted to VND 928,415 bil at the end of 2019, VietinBank operated with VND 912,233 bil of customer deposits and Sacombank had clients' deposits of VND 400,844 bil at the end of 2019.
