Based on a comparison of 15 banks in Vietnam in 2019, Sacombank operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by Vietcombank and Vietnam Export Import Bank.
Sacombank's loan to deposit ratio reached 72.9% at the end of 2019, up from 70.8% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 106% in 2011 and an all time low of 67.3% in 2016.
Comparing Sacombank with its closest peers, Vietcombank ended the year 2019 with loans to deposits at 78.0%, Vietnam Export Import Bank with 80.5% and Asia Commercial Bank some 86.4% of loans to deposits at the end of 2019.
