Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 5.35% to 61,636 tonnes in Tanzania in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Tanzania reached an all time high of 130,000 tonnes in 2011 and an all time low of 1,770 tonnes in 1962. When compared to Tanzania's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Kenya amounted to 10,663 tonnes, 95,517 tonnes in Mozambique, 32,965 tonnes in Uganda and 38,738 tonnes in Zambia in 2022.
