Historically, pig iron production in Russia reached an all time high of 55,022 kt in 2006 and an all time low of 36,462 kt in 1998. When compared to Russia's main peers, pig iron production in China amounted to 691,415 kt, 27,844 kt in Germany, 81,011 kt in Japan and 26,000 kt in USA in 2015.
