Passenger cars per 1,000 people rose 1.57% to 518 vehicles in the European Union in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, passenger cars per 1,000 people in the European Union reached an all time high of 518 vehicles in 2015 and an all time low of 475 vehicles in 2005. When compared to European Union's main peers, passenger cars per 1,000 people in China amounted to 97.9 vehicles, 485 vehicles in Japan, 314 vehicles in Russia and 379 vehicles in USA in 2015.
