Audi Group invested a total of EUR 3,877 mil in 2019, down 23.8% compared to the previous year. Historically, between 2009 - 2019, the company's investments stood at a high of EUR 5,115 mil in 2017 and a low of EUR 1,793 mil in 2009.
As a percentage of total sales, investments stood at 6.96% in 2019, down from 8.58% as seen in the previous year. This is compared to an average of 8.18% over the last five years.
The total value of cash investments was EUR 3,196 mil in 2019. Apart from the capital expenditures, the company booked EUR 1,201 mil inflow from long-term investments, further EUR 497 mil outflow due to acquisitions and EUR 54.0 mil inflow from other investing activities.
As far as Audi Group's peers are concerned, Daimler Group invested EUR 10,406 mil, or 6.02% of its sales in 2019. Comparable figures for BMW Group are EUR 6,820 mil and 6.54%.
