Czech Republic's Commercial Vehicles Sales (June 2021)

Sales of new commercial vehicles in Czechia reached 2.63 thousand in June 2021, according to ACEA. This is 23%, or 0.491 thousand more than in the previous year. In the first six months of 2021, some 14.4 thousand vehicles were sold, up 27.5% yoy.

Sales of new light commercial vehicles reached 1.77 thousand in June, up 19.2% yoy. Some 0.788 thousand medium and heavy commercial vehicles were registered (up 49.8% yoy) while sales of heavy vehicles amounted to 0.666 thousand vehicles, up 64.9% yoy. Some 0.065 thousand new buses have been delivered in June in Czechia, up down 46.7% when compared to last year.

In Europe, sales of commercial vehicles grew 1.78% to 208 thousand in June. Within the first six months of the year, the increase reached 27.5% as 14.4 thousand vehicles were registered.

Most commercial vehicles (51.9 thousand) were sold in France, followed by UK (38.2 thousand) and Germany (34.7 thousand). Most buses and coaches above 3.5 tonnes were sold in Germany, France and UK last month.

Most commercial vehicles registered in Europe were still powered by diesel, some 92% of light commercial vehicles and 73% of heavy trucks and buses in 2020. Only 2% of new trucks and 6.1% of new buses sold in 2020 run on batteries, according to ACEA.
