Based on a comparison of 14 countries in 2016, Albania ranked the highest in waterway transport freight measured by mil tonne-km with 146,995 mil tonne-km followed by Germany and Netherlands. On the other end of the scale was Czechia with 36.0 mil tonne-km, Poland with 108 mil tonne-km and Luxembourg with 190 mil tonne-km.
