Based on a comparison of 30 countries in 1999, Turkey ranked the highest in Utilised Agricultural Area - Main area with 38,817 1,000 ha followed by France and Spain. On the other end of the scale was Malta with 9.80 1,000 ha, Luxembourg with 127 1,000 ha and Cyprus with 134 1,000 ha.
