Based on a comparison of 18 countries in 2016, France ranked the highest in usable production of wine with 46,923 1,000 hl followed by Spain and Germany. On the other end of the scale was Belgium with 10.3 1,000 hl, Latvia with 18.2 1,000 hl and Malta with 19.9 1,000 hl.
