Based on a comparison of 15 countries in 2016, France ranked the highest in usable production of PGI wine with 13,212 1,000 hl followed by Spain and Portugal. On the other end of the scale was Belgium with 0.900 1,000 hl, Slovakia with 2.16 1,000 hl and United Kingdom with 7.00 1,000 hl.
