Based on a comparison of 17 countries in 2016, France ranked the highest in usable production of PDO red and rose wine with 14,607 1,000 hl followed by Spain and Germany. On the other end of the scale was Latvia with 0.800 1,000 hl, Belgium with 1.10 1,000 hl and Cyprus with 2.20 1,000 hl.
