Sales of electric cars reached 38.9 thousand in 2019 in Japan, according to ACEA. This is 21.8% less than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of electric cars in Japan reached an all time high of 54.1 thousand in 2017 and an all time low of 1.08 thousand in 2009.
