Based on a comparison of 145 countries in 2021, Sierra Leone ranked the highest in public spending on education as a share of government expenditure with 20.4% followed by Turkmenistan and Namibia. On the other end of the scale was Somalia with 4.36%, Nigeria with 6.17% and Papua New Guinea with 7.82%.
