Public debt reached EUR 17,218 bil in 2019 in the European Union, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 3.78% less than in the previous year.
Historically, public debt in the European Union reached an all time high of EUR 21,138 bil in 2014 and an all time low of EUR 3,901 bil in 2001.
