Based on a comparison of 13 countries in 2016, France ranked the highest in official production of PGI red and rose wine with 9,616 1,000 hl followed by Italy and Spain. On the other end of the scale was Belgium with 0.300 1,000 hl, Slovakia with 0.510 1,000 hl and United Kingdom with 2.00 1,000 hl.
