Based on a comparison of 18 countries in 2005, Poland ranked the highest in number of pigs holders with a herd size of sows with 395 '000 followed by Romania and Hungary. On the other end of the scale was Sweden with 2.00 '000, Finland with 2.00 '000 and Netherlands with 4.00 '000.
