Based on a comparison of 12 countries in 2007, Romania ranked the highest in number of pigs holders with a herd size of 1 or 2 sows with 1,960 '000 followed by Poland and Hungary. On the other end of the scale was France with 1.00 '000, United Kingdom with 2.00 '000 and Slovakia with 5.00 '000.
