Based on a comparison of 49 countries in 2010, Azerbaijan ranked the highest in number killed per 1,000 road traffic accidents with 340 persons followed by Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. On the other end of the scale was Iceland with 9.00 persons, United Kingdom with 12.0 persons and Germany with 13.0 persons.
