Based on a comparison of 172 countries in 2020, Lesotho ranked the highest in neonatal mortality per 1,000 live births with 44.3 followed by Pakistan and South Sudan. On the other end of the scale was Singapore with 0.800, Japan with 0.800 and Estonia with 0.900.
