Mortgage loans as a share of bank loans reached 23.1% in 2011 in the European Union, according to the National Central Bank. This is 1.15% less than in the previous year.
Historically, mortgage loans as a share of bank loans in the European Union reached an all time high of 23.4% in 2010 and an all time low of 5.88% in 2000.
