Market rental dwellings as a percentage of all dwellings reached 36.1% in 2005 in the European Union, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 2.56% more than in the previous year.

Historically, market rental dwellings as a percentage of all dwellings in the European Union reached an all time high of 38.5% in 1994 and an all time low of 35.2% in 2004.
