Based on a comparison of 26 countries in 2015, India ranked the highest in maintenance expenditures in rail infrastructure with EUR 22,928 mil followed by Italy and United Kingdom. On the other end of the scale was Serbia with EUR 8.84 mil, Slovakia with EUR 10.5 mil and Bulgaria with EUR 32.7 mil.
