Lignite coal production reached 28,377 kt in 2015 in India, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 1.22% more than in the previous year.
Historically, lignite coal production in India reached an all time high of 47,941 kt in 2012 and an all time low of 5,526 kt in 1980.
India has been ranked 13th within the group of 35 countries we follow in terms of lignite coal production.
