Based on a comparison of 34 countries in 2014, India ranked the highest in jute & jute-like fibre production with 2,071,412 tonnes followed by Bangladesh and China. On the other end of the scale was Cameroon with 99.0 tonnes, Central African Republic with 114 tonnes and Madagascar with 254 tonnes.
