Based on a comparison of 36 countries in 2019, Japan ranked the highest in hospital beds per 1,000 people with 13.1 beds followed by South Korea and Austria. On the other end of the scale was Mexico with 0.990 beds, Costa Rica with 1.65 beds and Colombia with 1.48 beds.
