Horse meat production reached 180 tonnes in 2018 in Portugal, according to Faostat. This is 19.3% less than in the previous year.
Historically, horse meat production in Portugal reached an all time high of 2,899 tonnes in 1964 and an all time low of 126 tonnes in 2010.
