Based on a comparison of 9 countries in 1999, Spain ranked the highest in gross human consumption of table white wine with 3,759 1,000 hl followed by Germany and United Kingdom. On the other end of the scale was Luxembourg with 11.0 1,000 hl, Finland with 37.0 1,000 hl and Denmark with 164 1,000 hl.
