Based on a comparison of 17 countries in 1999, Spain ranked the highest in Grapes - Area (cultivation/harvested/production) with 1,179 1,000 ha followed by Italy and France. On the other end of the scale was Luxembourg with 1.30 1,000 ha, Czechia with 11.1 1,000 ha and Slovenia with 16.6 1,000 ha.
