Based on a comparison of 23 countries in 2016, France ranked the highest in final stocks of PDO wine with 38,089 1,000 hl followed by Spain and Italy. On the other end of the scale was Malta with 8.30 1,000 hl, Lithuania with 9.40 1,000 hl and Latvia with 16.8 1,000 hl.
