Based on a comparison of 17 countries in 2016, Italy ranked the highest in exports of PGI red and rose wine outside of the EU with 1,231 1,000 hl followed by France and Spain. On the other end of the scale was Slovenia with 0.258 1,000 hl, Cyprus with 0.270 1,000 hl and Slovakia with 0.300 1,000 hl.
