Asylum applicants reached 5,615 persons in 2014 in Spain, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 25.2% more than in the previous year.
Historically, asylum applicants in Spain reached an all time high of 12,645 persons in 1993 and an all time low of 2,300 persons in 1985.
