Youth dependency ratio fell 4.91% to 75.8% in Malawi in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, youth dependency ratio in Malawi reached an all time high of 93.8% in 2010 and an all time low of 75.8% in 2022. When compared to Malawi's main peers, youth dependency ratio in Mozambique amounted to 75.6%, 37.2% in South Africa, 76.1% in Tanzania and 81.9% in Zambia in 2022.
