The bank generated an average return on equity of 5.67% for its shareholders in the last five years with a maximum of 9.38% and a minimum of -0.744%.
Comparing Erste Group Bank with its closest peers, Ceska Sporitelna generated a net profit of EUR 556 mil with a ROE of 12.0% in 2017, Erste Bank Austria netted EUR 534 mil (ROE of 10.6%) and Erste Bank Core Austria announced a net profit of EUR 253 mil giving a ROE of 18.9%.
