Based on a comparison of 12 banks among Erste Bank Group in 2017, Banca Commerciala Romana was the best capitalised bank, followed by Steiermarkische Sparkasse and Erste & Steiermarkische Bank.
Banca Commerciala Romana's capital adequacy ratio reached 21.3%, up from 20.3% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 27.7% in 2002 and an all time low of 9.76% in 2007.
Comparing Banca Commerciala Romana with its closest peers, Steiermarkische Sparkasse ended the year 2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 20.3%, Erste & Steiermarkische Bank with 20.1% and Erste Bank Hungary some 19.6% at the end of 2017.
