Based on a comparison of 12 banks among CEE Savings Banks in 2017, CEC Bank had the highest share of bad loans, followed by Zagrebacka Banka and DSK Bank.

CEC Bank's non-performing loans reached 15.0% of total loans at the end of 2017, down from 15.0% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 31.0% in 2013 and an all time low of 15.0% in 2016.

Provision coverage amounted to 11.4% at the end of 2017, down from 14.9% compared to a year earlier.

Comparing CEC Bank with its closest peers, Zagrebacka Banka operated at the end of 2017 with NPL ratio of 11.4% and provision coverage of 73.4%, DSK Bank with 11.2% and 92.3% and OTP Group had 10.9% of bad loans covered with 87.9% by provisions at the end of 2017.
