Which Country Uses Land for Cereal Production the Most?

Based on a comparison of 167 countries in 2014, India ranked the highest in land under cereal production with 97,971 '000 ha followed by China and USA. On the other end of the scale was Djibouti with 0.008 '000 ha, Maldives with 0.069 '000 ha and Bahamas with 0.094 '000 ha.

Total land under cereal production reached 705,150 '000 ha in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.03 % less than in the previous year and 3.84 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total land under cereal production reached an all time high of 712,274 '000 ha in 2008 and an all time low of 521,561 '000 ha in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 0.571 % since 1961.
