Based on a comparison of 41 countries in 2022, China ranked the highest in rabbit meat production with 358,152 tonnes followed by Dem. People's Republic of Korea and Egypt. On the other end of the scale was Trinidad and Tobago with 6.00 tonnes, Mauritius with 25.1 tonnes and Syria with 26.4 tonnes.
Total rabbit meat production reached 756,476 tonnes in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 15.1 % less than in the previous year and -65.9 % less than 10 years ago.
Historically, total rabbit meat production reached an all time high of 1,316,634 tonnes in 2014 and an all time low of 395,076 tonnes in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 1.06 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, China, accounted for 47.3 % of rabbit meat production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 76.1 % share while the ten largest countries some 91.8 % in 2022.
