Which Country Produces the Most Metallurgical Coke?

Based on a comparison of 40 countries in 2015, China ranked the highest in metallurgical coke production with 494,083 kt followed by Russia and Japan. On the other end of the scale was Mongolia with 79.0 kt, Pakistan with 89.0 kt and Dem. People's Republic of Korea with 191 kt.

Total metallurgical coke production reached 747,126 kt in 2015 in the World according to the National Statistical Office. This is 5.23 % less than in the previous year and 30.2 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total metallurgical coke production reached an all time high of 786,236 kt in 2014 and an all time low of 267,891 kt in 1995. The average annual growth amounted to 1.69 % since 1980.

The top ranked country, China, accounted for 66.1 % of metallurgical coke production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 77.8 % share while the ten largest countries some 92.7 % in 2015.
