Based on a comparison of 53 countries in 2014, USA ranked the highest in maize oil production with 1,818,100 tonnes followed by China and Turkey. On the other end of the scale was Panama with 200 tonnes, Kazakhstan with 200 tonnes and Singapore with 253 tonnes.
Total maize oil production reached 2,521,702 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 13.3 % less than in the previous year and 22.0 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total maize oil production reached an all time high of 2,856,039 tonnes in 2013 and an all time low of 348,776 tonnes in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 3.80 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, USA, accounted for 72.1 % of maize oil production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 90.4 % share while the ten largest countries some 110 % in 2014.
