Based on a comparison of 23 countries in 2014, Australia ranked the highest in midwives per 1,000 live births with 67.6 persons followed by Sweden and Poland. On the other end of the scale was South Korea with 2.53 persons, Slovenia with 5.87 persons and Netherlands with 16.3 persons.
