Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Slovenia in 2016, Nova Ljubljanska banka was the largest lender, followed by SKB Banka and NKBM Group.
Nova Ljubljanska banka loans reached EUR 6,997 mil, down 1.28% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans reached an all time high of EUR 12,917 mil in 2008 and an all time low of EUR 2,783 mil in 2000.
Comparing Nova Ljubljanska banka with its closest peers, SKB Banka customer loans amounted to EUR 2,178 mil, NKBM Group operated with EUR 1,964 mil loans and Abanka Group had a loan portfolio of EUR 1,806 mil.
Slovenian banking sector provided total customer loans of CZK 20.5 bil in 2016, up 1.28% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Nova Ljubljanska banka accounted for 34.1% of the sector’s loans in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 54.2% share while the five largest firms some 71.8% in 2016.
