Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Slovenia in 2017, Nova Ljubljanska banka was the largest bank by assets, followed by NKBM Group and Abanka Group.
Nova Ljubljanska banka assets reached EUR 12,238 mil, up 1.65% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s assets reached an all time high of EUR 19,606 mil in 2009 and an all time low of EUR 5,354 mil in 2000.
Comparing Nova Ljubljanska banka with its closest peers, NKBM Group assets amounted to EUR 4,930 mil, Abanka Group operated with EUR 3,654 mil assets and SKB Banka had total assets of EUR 3,174 mil.
Total assets of the Slovenian banking sector amounted to EUR 37.9 bil in 2017, up 2.42% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Nova Ljubljanska banka accounted for 32.3% of the sector’s assets in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 54.9% share while the five largest firms some 70.5% in 2017.
