What Banks in Slovenia Were the Largest Deposit Takers in 2017?

Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Slovenia in 2017, Nova Ljubljanska banka was the largest deposit taker, followed by NKBM Group and Abanka Group.

Nova Ljubljanska banka's customer deposits reached EUR 9,879 mil, up from EUR 9,439 mil, compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of EUR 10,741 mil in 2009 and an all time low of EUR 3,740 mil in 2000.

Comparing Nova Ljubljanska banka with its closest peers, NKBM Group's deposits amounted to EUR 3,638 mil at the end of 2017, Abanka Group operated with EUR 2,856 mil of customer deposits and SKB Banka had clients' deposits of EUR 2,341 mil at the end of 2017.

Slovenian banks had customer deposits of CZK 27.5 bil in 2017, up 5.34% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Nova Ljubljanska banka accounted for 35.9% of the sector’s deposits in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 59.5% share while the five largest firms some 75.1% in 2017.
