Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Slovenia in 2016, Abanka Group was the best capitalised bank, followed by NKBM Group and Sberbank Slovenia.
Abanka Group's capital adequacy ratio reached 26.5%, up from 23.0% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 26.5% in 2016 and an all time low of 8.90% in 2006.
Comparing Abanka Group with its closest peers, NKBM Group ended the year 2016 with a capital adequacy ratio at 24.0%, Sberbank Slovenia with 18.3% and Gorenjska Banka some 17.9% at the end of 2016.
The average capital adequacy reached 19.2% in the Slovenian banking sector in 2016.
