Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Slovenia in 2016, Nova Ljubljanska banka generated the largest revenues, followed by NKBM Group and Abanka Group.
Nova Ljubljanska banka reported total revenues of EUR 476 mil, down 1.83% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of EUR 688 mil in 2008 and an all time low of EUR 69.3 mil in 2013. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to EUR 444 mil.
Bank's total revenues accounted for 3.95% of total assets in 2016, down from 4.10% a year earlier.
Comparing Nova Ljubljanska banka with its closest peers, NKBM Group generated total revenues of EUR 151 mil, or 3.13% of assets in 2016, Abanka Group operated with EUR 129 mil total income, or 3.57% revenue margin and SKB Banka produced total income worth EUR 118 mil, or 3.98% of assets.
Slovenian banking sector generated total revenues of EUR 1,127 mil in 2016, down 2.68% when compared to the previous year. As a result, the top ranked company - Nova Ljubljanska banka accounted for 42.2% of the sector’s total income in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 67.1% share while the five largest firms some 85.4% in 2016.
