Based on a comparison of 14 banks in Slovakia in 2017, VUB Banka was the largest lender, followed by Slovenska Sporitelna and Tatra banka.
VUB Banka loans reached EUR 12,001 mil, up 11.9% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans reached an all time high of EUR 12,001 mil in 2017 and an all time low of EUR 676 mil in 2000.
Comparing VUB Banka with its closest peers, Slovenska Sporitelna customer loans amounted to EUR 11,720 mil, Tatra banka operated with EUR 9,333 mil loans and CSOB Slovakia had a loan portfolio of EUR 6,576 mil.
Slovak banking sector provided total customer loans of CZK 3,085 bil in 2017, up 4.58% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - VUB Banka accounted for 0.389% of the sector’s loans in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 1.07% share while the five largest firms some 1.44% in 2017.
