Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Serbia, AIK Banka produced the highest net profit in 2017, followed by Bank Intesa Serbia and Komercijalna Banka Beograd.
AIK Banka made a net profit of RSD 12,080 mil, up 178% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of RSD 12,080 mil in 2017 and an all time low of RSD 1,017 mil in 2003. The average profit in the last five years amounted to RSD 4,697 mil.
The bank generated an average return on equity of 8.58% for its shareholders in the last five years with a maximum of 21.2% and a minimum of 2.47%.
Comparing AIK Banka with its closest peers, Bank Intesa Serbia generated a net profit of RSD 11,848 mil with a ROE of 9.75% in 2017, Komercijalna Banka Beograd netted RSD 8,268 mil (ROE of 13.9%) and UniCredit Bank Serbia announced a net profit of RSD 6,782 mil giving a ROE of 10.0%.
The net profit of the Serbia’s banking sector amounted to RSD 63,572 mil in 2017, up 246% compared to the previous year. Heading up the rankings, AIK Banka accounted for 19.0% of the sector’s net profit in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 50.6% share while the five largest firms some 71.7% in 2017.
