Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Serbia in 2017, Bank Intesa Serbia was the largest bank by assets, followed by UniCredit Bank Serbia and Komercijalna Banka Beograd.
Bank Intesa Serbia assets reached RSD 564,860 mil, up 2.44% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s assets reached an all time high of RSD 564,860 mil in 2017 and an all time low of RSD 28,914 mil in 2002.
Comparing Bank Intesa Serbia with its closest peers, UniCredit Bank Serbia assets amounted to RSD 370,780 mil, Komercijalna Banka Beograd operated with RSD 369,184 mil assets and Societe Generale Serbia had total assets of RSD 294,755 mil.
Total assets of the Serbian banking sector amounted to RSD 3,599 bil in 2017, up 0.145% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Bank Intesa Serbia accounted for 15.7% of the sector’s assets in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 36.3% share while the five largest firms some 51.8% in 2017.
